UGREEN HDMI KVM Switch 2 In 1 Out, Black
Build a practical workstation around two computers, one HDMI monitor and your preferred USB accessories. The UGREEN AK502 HDMI KVM switch lets you move between connected computers with a button press, so the same keyboard, mouse and display can serve a work laptop and a desktop. Its four USB 3.0 accessory ports also let you share devices such as a printer, webcam or external drive. This is especially useful when the two computers run different software or belong to different people, but share the same working area. You choose which system has access to the connected equipment at any moment. The physical HDMI and USB connections make the setup easy to understand: HDMI carries the picture, while the separate USB connection gives the selected computer access to your keyboard, mouse and other accessories. Plan those connections for both computers before arranging the switch on your desk.
Key features
One monitor, two computers
Select which computer uses the shared HDMI display and USB peripherals without repeatedly moving cables between machines. The computers remain independent, with their own operating systems, applications and files. Switching the peripherals does not move work from one computer to the other.
4K at 60Hz
Enjoy a sharp, smooth picture on a compatible display. HDMI 2.0, HDR and HDCP 2.2/1.4 support suit modern office and entertainment setups. For the best result, check the computer's HDMI output, monitor input and every cable in the path. A lower-capability component can limit the available display mode.
Four shared USB ports
Three USB-A ports and one USB-C port provide connections for everyday accessories, with USB 3.0 transfer rates up to 5Gbps. USB bandwidth is shared by the active connection. Large file transfers, a webcam and other busy accessories can compete for that bandwidth during simultaneous use.
Switch from your desk
Use the button on the switch or its wired desktop controller to change the active computer. Plug-and-play operation keeps initial setup straightforward. Place the wired controller within easy reach and keep the main unit where the host cables route neatly. You can change computers without reaching behind the monitor.
Where it fits
Work and personal computers
Share your desk monitor and input devices between a work computer and your own PC while keeping each system separate.
A tidier home office
Connect common peripherals to one switch so your keyboard, mouse, webcam and other USB devices are ready for the selected machine.
Shared specialist equipment
Keep a USB printer, scanner or other supported accessory connected to the switch when two computers need to use it at different times. Install any required accessory drivers on both computers. Finish the current print, scan or transfer job before switching ownership of that device.
Will it work with your setup?
Windows, macOS and Linux computers with suitable HDMI and USB connections.
One HDMI monitor, TV or projector; USB keyboards, mice, printers, webcams and external storage devices.
Setup and everyday use
Connect each computer to its paired HDMI and USB host connections on the switch. Both connections are needed to switch the picture and USB peripherals together.
Connect your monitor to HDMI OUT, then plug the shared peripherals into the USB-A or USB-C accessory ports.
Use the case button or wired controller to select a computer. Set a resolution and refresh rate supported by both the source and display.

Frequently asked questions
What cables do I need to connect two computers?
Each computer needs an HDMI path for video and a USB data path for the shared peripherals, connected to the matching host group on the KVM. The monitor connects to the HDMI output, and the keyboard and mouse connect to the accessory ports. Count both host connections when planning the installation. A video cable on its own will not give that computer control of the shared USB devices.
Can I connect a USB-C laptop with one cable?
This model uses separate HDMI and USB host connections. Its USB-C accessory socket is for a shared peripheral and does not replace the HDMI input. A USB-C-only laptop cannot use one USB-C cable to provide both video and USB through this KVM. Docking stations are not supported. Confirm a compatible separate HDMI video and USB data arrangement before choosing this switch for a laptop without those ports.
Does it show both computers on the screen at once?
The switch selects one computer for the shared HDMI screen and attached USB accessories at a time. It does not combine two desktops into a split-screen view or provide picture-in-picture processing. If you need to see both systems continuously, plan a separate display arrangement. For a desk where you alternate between tasks on two computers, the case button and wired controller provide the switching controls.
Will I get 4K at 60Hz through the switch?
Up to 4K at 60Hz is supported, but the complete connection must handle that mode. Check the source computer, any compatible HDMI adapter, both HDMI cable segments and the monitor's chosen input. Select 3840 × 2160 and 60Hz in the operating system where available. If the picture fails or a lower refresh rate appears, test a direct source-to-monitor connection and then add the KVM back into the setup.
Can I share a webcam, printer or external SSD?
The three USB-A ports and one USB-C accessory port can share supported USB peripherals with the selected computer. Each computer may still need the device's normal driver, permissions or application settings. The USB 3.0 connection supports up to 5Gbps, while actual transfers depend on the storage device and other activity. Stop recording, finish print jobs and safely eject external storage before changing the active computer.
Does switching also transfer files between the computers?
No. A KVM changes which computer is connected to the shared screen and USB devices; it does not establish a direct file-transfer link between the computers. You can use a shared external drive by completing a transfer, safely ejecting it and then switching it to the other computer. Network sharing is another separate option. Do not treat a drive connected through the KVM as storage that both computers can access simultaneously.
Can I switch with a keyboard shortcut, and will windows stay in place?
Use the button on the unit or its wired desktop controller. This model does not support keyboard hotkey switching or EDID emulation. Because it does not emulate a continuously connected screen for each computer, display behaviour can depend on the operating system, graphics hardware and monitor. Test the switching behaviour with your normal applications, and save work before making changes to the display arrangement.
What should I check if the screen works but the keyboard does not?
First check the USB host cable for the selected computer: HDMI can work even when the USB path is missing or connected to the wrong host group. Test a simple keyboard or mouse directly in the KVM and then directly in the computer. If one accessory is affected, check its driver and power requirements. Change one connection at a time so you can identify whether the issue follows the device, cable or host port.
