Frequently asked questions
What is required for 4K at 120Hz?
The console or computer output and the chosen display input must both support 4K at 120Hz, and the source content or game must offer the mode. Enable the appropriate high-bandwidth HDMI setting on the display if required. Any receiver, switch or adapter between the devices must also pass that mode. Check the final resolution and refresh rate in the source settings after connecting.
Will the cable give my existing television an 8K picture?
The cable supports up to 8K at 60Hz with compatible equipment, but it cannot add pixels or input modes to a television. An 8K connection requires an 8K-capable source output and display input, with settings that support the intended mode. A lower-resolution screen can still use the cable at its supported resolution. The programme, game or source material also determines the detail actually available to display.
Can I use it with PlayStation, Xbox or a gaming computer?
It can connect a compatible HDMI source to an HDMI television or monitor. To use features such as 4K at 120Hz, check the console or graphics output, the display input and the game settings together. Some games offer separate performance and image-quality modes. The cable provides the connection; it does not change the frame rate a console or computer is able to produce.
Does it work with older Full HD equipment?
Yes, compatible HDMI equipment can use the cable at the picture modes it supports, including a Full HD setup. You do not need an 8K television to connect it. Choose the correct HDMI input and let the source negotiate a supported mode, or select one manually if needed. Replacing the cable alone will not upgrade an older output, display panel or receiver to newer HDMI capabilities.
How do I use eARC with a soundbar or AV receiver?
Connect the eARC-labelled HDMI port on the television to the matching eARC port on the soundbar or receiver. Enable the required audio-return options in the device menus and select the appropriate sound output. Both pieces of equipment must support eARC for that feature to be available. The supported audio formats also depend on the television, audio system and the content being played.
Will HDR work automatically when I connect it?
HDR requires support from the source, the content and the display, as well as appropriate HDMI input and output settings. The cable supports the compatible HDR connection, but it cannot turn an SDR-only screen into an HDR display. If the picture mode is missing, check the selected input capabilities and any receiver or switch in the path, then test a direct source-to-screen connection.
Can I run it through an HDMI switch or receiver?
Yes, provided that equipment supports the picture and audio features you need. A switch or receiver with a lower-bandwidth HDMI path can limit the connection even when this cable and the display support a higher mode. Establish a working direct connection first, then reconnect the intermediate equipment. Check the receiver input and output settings as well as the source and television settings.
What should I check if 4K120 is unavailable or unstable?
Confirm that you are using the correct high-bandwidth HDMI input and that any enhanced-input setting is enabled. Check the source output configuration and test a direct connection without an adapter, switch or receiver. Make sure both plugs are seated and are not being pulled by the cable route. If a lower mode works, compare the supported modes of every device in the connection.
Is the 2m braided cable suitable behind a wall-mounted TV?
It can suit a wall-mounted setup when the full route is within 2m and there is enough clearance for the HDMI plugs. Measure from the actual ports, including the bends down to the connected equipment. Leave a relaxed bend near each connector instead of pressing the plug against the wall. The braided covering does not make the cable suitable for sharp folds or excessive pulling.
