Four USB 3.0 data ports for a USB-A computer product view
Product introduction
Overview
The attached USB-A host cable connects directly to a desktop, laptop or other compatible USB host. Four downstream USB-A ports provide a simple way to attach storage, keyboards, mice, receivers and other standard USB peripherals.
The hub supports a theoretical USB 3.0 rate up to 5Gbps and is backward-compatible with slower USB devices. All four ports share the host connection, so actual throughput depends on the computer, device, file workload and simultaneous activity.
A 5V micro-USB input can provide auxiliary power to the hub and attached peripherals when the host port alone is insufficient. It does not charge the computer, phone or tablet, and the hub does not carry any display signal.

Connections and signal roles
USB-A host lead
Connects to a standard USB-A host port on a compatible computer or console.
Four USB-A 3.0 ports
Connect storage and peripherals at up to 5Gbps theoretical.
5V micro-USB input
Provides optional hub-side power for connected devices; no host charging.
Shared USB link
All downstream ports share the bandwidth and power of one upstream connection.
USB-A EXPANSION
Keep four everyday peripherals connected
The four downstream ports reduce cable swapping for storage, input devices, printers, controllers and other compatible USB accessories.
USB 3.0 is backward-compatible, but each device runs at its own negotiated rate and active devices share the single host link.

Four USB 3.0 data ports for a USB-A computer: Support bus-powered devices with a separate 5V input
AUXILIARY POWER
Support bus-powered devices with a separate 5V input
Connect a suitable 5V micro-USB source when several peripherals or a portable drive need more power than the host port reliably provides.
The input supports the hub side only. It is not a phone charger, laptop charger or fast-charging output.

Real-world applications
Use scenarios
Choose this exact model when its verified connections and limits match the workflow below.
Desktop cable management
Keep keyboard, mouse, receiver and printer attached through one host port.
Laptop USB expansion
Add four familiar USB-A connections to a compatible USB-A laptop.
External storage
Connect flash drives or portable storage within shared power and bandwidth limits.
Console accessories
Use compatible USB data peripherals with a console that supports standard USB hubs.
Practical connection order
Setup and usability guidance
A deliberate connection order makes capability checks and troubleshooting easier.
Connect the attached USB-A plug to a compatible host port.
Connect a low-power peripheral first and verify detection.
Add remaining peripherals one at a time.
If a drive is unstable, connect a suitable 5V micro-USB source.
Allow the operating system to install any peripheral-specific driver.
Safely eject storage before disconnecting it.
Unplug the hub if a cable or connector is damaged.
Host and peripheral fit
Compatible devices and systems
Connector shape alone is not enough: the host port, operating system, cable, display and peripheral must support the required function.
USB-A Windows PCs
Works with standard USB data ports and supported peripheral drivers.
macOS and Linux computers
Basic hub functions are generally plug and play on compatible USB-A hosts.
Consoles and other hosts
Accessory support depends on the host platform and the specific connected device.
Phones and tablets
Require a separate compatible OTG adapter and host support; no adapter is included or assumed.
Verified function scope
What this product does
Adds four USB-A data ports to one USB-A host.
Supports theoretical USB 3.0 rates up to 5Gbps.
Works with backward-compatible USB devices at their negotiated rates.
Accepts optional 5V auxiliary power for the hub and peripherals.
Boundaries that prevent a mismatch
What this product does not do
It does not output video to a monitor, television or projector.
It does not charge the host computer.
It does not provide an express-charging promise for phones or tablets.
It does not include USB-C downstream data ports.
It does not give each port independent 5Gbps bandwidth.
Recommended practice
What to do
Use auxiliary power for demanding multi-device loads.
Use healthy USB cables and peripherals.
Keep the hub uncovered during sustained transfers.
Back up important files before copying them.
Test devices individually when diagnosing a fault.
Avoid common mistakes
What not to do
Do not connect a display expecting a picture.
Do not use the hub as a general charger.
Do not unplug storage during a write.
Do not exceed the available host and auxiliary power budget.
Do not force or sharply bend connectors.
Read before use
Warnings and limitations
Check before connecting or ordering
Confirm the device has a USB-A host port or a suitable data-capable adapter.
Do not expect video output to a TV, monitor or projector.
Do not expect phone, tablet or laptop charging.
Check the combined power needs of attached peripherals.
Select a suitable 5V micro-USB source separately if needed.
Remember that four devices share one 5Gbps host link.
Confirm console or mobile support for the exact accessory.
Warning / limitation 1
Removing a drive during a write can corrupt files.
Warning / limitation 2
Actual throughput depends on shared bandwidth and the slowest connected component.
Warning / limitation 3
Some consoles and mobile devices restrict supported USB accessories.
Warning / limitation 4
A high-power drive may require auxiliary power and can still exceed the available budget.
Warning / limitation 5
Disconnect the hub if it or a connector becomes unusually hot or damaged.

Model-specific answers
Product-specific FAQ
What host connector does it use?
The attached upstream connector is USB-A, not USB-C.
How many ports does it add?
It adds four downstream USB-A 3.0 data ports.
Can every port reach 5Gbps at once?
No. 5Gbps is the theoretical shared link rate; devices divide the upstream bandwidth.
Can it send video to a television or projector?
No. This is a data-only USB hub and has no display output.
Can it charge my laptop?
No. The auxiliary micro-USB input does not send charging power to the host.
Can it fast-charge a phone?
No express-charging function is supported or promised for the downstream ports.
What is the micro-USB input for?
It accepts a suitable 5V source to support the hub and attached peripherals.
Is a power source included?
It is not confirmed as included, so plan one separately only if the peripheral load requires it.
Will USB 2.0 devices work?
Yes. They are backward-compatible and operate at their own lower rate.
Can a phone use this hub?
Only with a separate compatible OTG adapter and host support; no adapter is included.
Why does a drive disconnect?
The device may need more power than the host supplies. Reduce the load or add suitable 5V auxiliary power.
