UGREEN 80182 Dual-Port Keystone Wall Plate, 86×86mm, White
Overview
UGREEN 80182 is a two-position modular faceplate for finishing two independent low-voltage cable runs at one indoor wall location. It holds two compatible keystone-form modules. The modules and cables carry the signals; the plate itself is a passive mounting and protection component. Below: selection, installation, compatibility, real limitations and safe use without treating a passive accessory as active networking equipment.

What it does well.

Key features
Role. It holds two compatible keystone-form modules. The modules and cables carry the signals; the plate itself is a passive mounting and protection component.
Compatibility boundary. Two physically compatible keystone modules and a suitable 86 × 86mm wall-box installation. The page specifically lists RJ45 LAN and RJ11 telephone use; other low-voltage keystone couplers must be checked for body size, latch position, depth and full-path signal support.
Performance reality. No speed or format is created by the plate. Each port is limited by its installed module, in-wall cable, patch leads and connected equipment.
Important exclusion. This is not an Ethernet splitter, network switch, router, signal combiner, converter, amplifier, mains outlet, weatherproof box or surface-mount enclosure.
Where it fits in the connection
The system rule: every stage must match. The lowest-rated, damaged or incorrectly terminated component can limit speed, reliability, shielding, PoE operation or serviceability.
Use scenarios
Scenario 1. Two separately cabled Ethernet outlets at a desk or media point.
Scenario 2. One network module plus one telephone module in a shared wall position.
Scenario 3. Two independently labelled building-cabling runs.
Scenario 4. A serviceable outlet where either compatible module may be replaced later.
Compatibility and selection guide
Use when. Two physically compatible keystone modules and a suitable 86 × 86mm wall-box installation. The page specifically lists RJ45 LAN and RJ11 telephone use; other low-voltage keystone couplers must be checked for body size, latch position, depth and full-path signal support.
Do not assume. not an Ethernet splitter, network switch, router, signal combiner, converter, amplifier, mains outlet, weatherproof box or surface-mount enclosure. Before bulk purchase: trial the cable, module, plug or rack fit and complete one tested installation. Small physical differences can matter even within the same category name.
Setup and usability guidance
Work cleanly: dust, copper scraps and loose braid strands can create faults. Collect offcuts and inspect the finished area before energising connected equipment.
- Step 1: Confirm the 86 × 86mm faceplate size, wall-box screw positions, usable depth and local installation requirements.
- Step 2: Choose two modules that physically fit the listed 14.7 × 19.5mm front openings and match their respective cable systems.
- Step 3: Route two independent low-voltage cable runs; do not expect one cable to create two ports.
- Step 4: Terminate and test each run before fitting it into the faceplate.
- Step 5: Snap modules into place without forcing or twisting their latches, then fasten the plate evenly.
- Step 6: Label both ports at the wall and at the patching end, then retest both links.

Compatible devices and systems
Network endpoints. Routers, switches, access points, computers, printers, smart televisions, cameras and other RJ45 network equipment only through a correctly built compatible link.
Structured cabling. Wall outlets, patch panels, permanent cable and patch leads must share a suitable category, shielding design and wiring scheme.
PoE equipment. Possible only within the boundary: The plate has no electrical contacts. PoE capability depends entirely on a compliant RJ45 keystone, cable, terminations and powered network equipment.
Operating systems. No operating-system driver is required for this passive accessory or manual tool; active adapters and switches are separate products.
What this product does
- Provides its documented function: It holds two compatible keystone-form modules. The modules and cables carry the signals; the plate itself is a passive mounting and protection component.
- Supports the stated compatibility class: Two physically compatible keystone modules and a suitable 86 × 86mm wall-box installation. The page specifically lists RJ45 LAN and RJ11 telephone use; other low-voltage keystone couplers must be checked for body size, latch position, depth and full-path signal support.
- Can form part of a serviceable labelled network: when installed with matched components and tested.
- Keeps infrastructure modular: damaged or changed portions can be traced and replaced without rebuilding unrelated equipment.
- Uses no software: this product is passive or manual and has no configuration app.
What this product does not do
- It is not an Ethernet splitter, network switch, router, signal combiner, converter, amplifier, mains outlet, weatherproof box or surface-mount enclosure.
- It does not upgrade a lower-category cable or repair split pairs, poor conductor material, corrosion or bad device ports.
- It does not guarantee PoE, bandwidth or error-free operation without a compliant complete link.
- It does not remove the need for correct tools, installation practice, labelling and testing.
- It should not be installed outdoors, in wet areas or beside mains wiring without a suitable compliant enclosure and qualified design.
What to do
Match. Match this SKU: use the title, construction and limits for 80182 rather than borrowing specifications from a similar family member.
Check. Check the complete path: confirm cable category, shielding, conductor construction, connector geometry, patch leads and endpoints.
Label. Label both ends: record room/port, wiring scheme and destination so later maintenance does not become guesswork.
Test. Test in stages: verify the cable or module before closing a wall plate or rack, then test again after final assembly.
Protect. Protect bend radius and strain relief: route cable gently and keep load away from contacts, IDC slots and device sockets.

What not to do
Do not force. Do not force parts: a keystone, plug, cable or tool that does not fit cleanly is probably the wrong geometry.
Do not miswire. Do not mix T568A and T568B accidentally: document the chosen scheme and check all eight conductors.
Do not over-untwist. Do not untwist pairs excessively: preserving pair geometry near termination matters to high-frequency performance.
Do not guess. Do not claim speed from appearance: clear housings, gold colour or a category marking do not replace complete-link testing.
Do not reuse damage. Do not use damaged parts: discard cracked housings, bent contacts, dull blades, loose shutters or failed crimp terminations.
Warnings and limitations
model limit: No speed or format is created by the plate. Each port is limited by its installed module, in-wall cable, patch leads and connected equipment.
- Electrical work nearby: isolate nearby mains circuits before opening a wall box and use a qualified installer wherever rules require one.
- Indoor low-voltage scope: no outdoor ingress rating is established. Keep the product dry, clean and away from corrosive environments or excessive heat.
- Category is system-wide: a Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat7 label on one part does not upgrade the remaining cable, patch leads, terminations or equipment.
- Test before service: visual inspection is not enough. Verify conductor map and real link negotiation; professional installations may require certification testing.
- Do not work on live mains: networking hardware is low voltage, but wall boxes and racks may be close to hazardous electrical circuits.
Troubleshooting checklist
No link. Confirm both active devices, patch leads and port selections. Then check conductor map, full insertion and the connector/cable fit.
Lower speed than expected. Verify negotiation settings and every component category. Excessive untwist, split pairs and unsuitable cable construction can pass continuity yet fail performance.
Intermittent link. Look for incomplete seating, weak strain relief, damaged latch, nicked conductor, IDC not fully closed or a crimp made with the wrong die.
PoE device restarts. Stop use and inspect conductor material, gauge, contact engagement, heat and the powered equipment budget. Do not continue with a hot or damaged termination.
Shield or noise concern. For shielded products, check end-to-end shield design and grounding practice. Mixing shielded and unshielded parts can defeat the intended system.
Port or label mismatch. Trace one cable at a time, compare labels at both ends and update records immediately after correction.
model check before ordering
Match SKU 80182, product type, port or die count, cable category/construction and package contents. Similar UGREEN networking accessories can look nearly identical while using different shielding, conductor fit, rack format or termination method.
