- A laptop without Ethernet needs a USB or USB-C Ethernet adapter.
Setup and everyday use
- Plan the route along a wall, under a rug or behind furniture, leaving some slack at each end.
- Plug one RJ45 connector into the router or switch until the clip clicks, and the other into your device.
- Check the link lights or network settings; the speed negotiates automatically.
- Lay the flat cable without sharp creases or twists.
- To unplug, press the clip and pull the connector, not the cable.
