UGREEN NW101 3M Cat 6 Flat Ethernet Cable, 1000Mbps Gigabit U/UTP Pure Copper RJ45 LAN Cable – 50186
Up to 1000Mbps for Work, Streaming, Gaming and File Transfers
Connect a Gigabit-capable router, switch or network outlet to a computer, smart television, gaming console, NAS, printer or other Ethernet device. A wired connection can provide greater consistency than congested or weak Wi-Fi, particularly for large downloads, online meetings, streaming and network storage.
What it does well.
250MHz Channel Bandwidth with Four Twisted Pairs
The cable uses four twisted conductor pairs to carry Ethernet signals while helping control pair-to-pair crosstalk. Cat 6 performance supports 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX and 1000BASE-T Ethernet connections with compatible network hardware.
Designed for Lower Resistance and Stable Signal Transmission
Pure-copper conductors provide strong electrical conductivity and are intended to minimise avoidable signal loss across the cable’s three-metre length. The twisted-pair arrangement supports consistent Gigabit Ethernet performance in compatible network installations.
Construction Highlights.
- Pure-copper signal conductors
- Four twisted Ethernet pairs
- U/UTP unshielded construction
- Flexible black outer jacket
- Flat cable profile
- Reinforced moulded connector ends
Route the Cable Neatly along Walls, Furniture and Tight Spaces
The flat cable profile is easier to organise than many conventional round network cables. It can follow skirting boards, desk edges and furniture contours to create a cleaner home or office network installation.
Along Walls. Route the slim cable beside skirting boards or suitable cable-management channels.
Behind Furniture. Pass through suitable low-pressure spaces behind desks, cabinets and entertainment units.
Travel & Temporary Use. The flat 3M cable is easy to coil and carry for temporary wired-network setups.
Keep the Cable Flat without Crushing or Sharply Folding It
The flat profile permits discreet routing, but the cable should not be permanently compressed by heavy furniture, pinched in a closing door or folded through an extremely sharp angle. Excessive pressure can damage the internal twisted pairs and reduce network reliability.
Recommended Installation Practice.
- Use smooth curves rather than sharp folds.
- Avoid high-traffic floor areas where the cable will be crushed.
- Do not staple through the cable jacket.
- Keep the connector latch accessible for removal.
- Use suitable clips or low-pressure cable channels.
Gold-Plated Contacts and Protective Latch Covers
Both ends use standard RJ45 male connectors with eight conductive contacts. The moulded housings and protective latch covers help reduce damage during connection, removal, transport and cable routing.
- RJ45 male connector at both ends
- Eight gold-plated conductive contacts
- Protective latch-cover design
- Moulded strain relief
- Plug-and-play network connection
Connect Standard Ethernet Devices at Home or Work
Use the cable between compatible devices fitted with standard RJ45 Ethernet ports. It functions as a normal straight-through network patch cable and negotiates the highest Ethernet speed supported by the connected equipment.
Routers & Modems. Connect a computer, switch, access point or other network device to a router or modem.
Network Switches. Use as a patch cable between compatible switches, patch panels and end devices.
Computers & Laptops. Connect PCs, workstations and laptops that have a built-in or external RJ45 adapter.
Gaming Consoles. Works with compatible PlayStation, Xbox and other consoles offering wired Ethernet.
Smart TVs & Media Players. Connect compatible televisions, set-top boxes, streaming players and TV boxes.
NAS & Network Printers. Connect compatible storage devices, VoIP phones and network-enabled printers.
Cat 6 U/UTP — This Is an Unshielded Ethernet Cable
U/UTP indicates that the cable has no overall foil shield and no individual shielding around the twisted pairs. The twisted-pair geometry provides its principal crosstalk control.
Do Not Describe It As.
- STP or shielded twisted pair
- FTP or foil-shielded Ethernet cable
- Cat 6A, Cat 7 or Cat 8 cable
- 10Gbps network cable
- Outdoor-rated or armoured cable
- In-wall installation cable
All Connected Network Equipment Must Support 1000Mbps
The cable can carry a Gigabit Ethernet link, but it cannot upgrade a 100Mbps router, switch or network adapter. The negotiated connection speed will be limited by the slowest connected device.
For a Gigabit Link.
- Use Gigabit-capable router or switch ports.
- Use a Gigabit-capable computer or device adapter.
- Check that all eight RJ45 conductors are active.
- Configure the network adapter for automatic negotiation.
- Remember that internet speed may be lower than local LAN speed.
What This Product Does
- Connects two compatible RJ45 Ethernet devices.
- Provides a 3-metre wired network connection.
- Supports 10Mbps, 100Mbps and 1000Mbps Ethernet.
- Supports Cat 6 channel bandwidth up to 250MHz.
- Uses pure-copper signal conductors.
- Uses four twisted Ethernet pairs.
- Uses a flat black cable profile for easier routing.
- Includes standard RJ45 male connectors on both ends.
- Uses gold-plated conductive contacts.
- Includes protective connector-latch covers.
- Is backward-compatible with Cat 5 and Cat 5e network links.
- Works with compatible routers, switches, PCs, consoles, TVs, printers and NAS devices.
- This is a standard RJ45 male-to-male patch cable.
- It is not an RJ45 extension cable with a female socket.
- It is U/UTP and does not have an overall metal shield.
- Maximum supported network speed is 1000Mbps.
- It does not convert Wi-Fi into Ethernet by itself.
- Devices without RJ45 ports require a separate Ethernet adapter.
- Actual internet speed depends on the internet service and network equipment.
- Avoid crushing, sharply folding or stapling through the cable.
- It is not specified as an outdoor or direct-burial cable.
Frequently Asked Questions
Important answers for customers buying the UGREEN 50186 Cat 6 Flat Ethernet Cable.
What is UGREEN 50186 used for?. It connects two compatible RJ45 Ethernet devices, such as a router and computer, switch and access point, or router and smart television.
What is the maximum network speed?. It supports a Gigabit Ethernet link up to 1000Mbps when both connected devices and the network infrastructure support Gigabit Ethernet.
Does it support 10Gbps?. No. This SKU is specified for up to 1000Mbps or 1Gbps networking.
Is this a shielded Ethernet cable?. No. It is classified as U/UTP, meaning it has no overall foil or braided shield and no individual pair shielding.
Is the conductor made from pure copper?. Yes. The India listing describes pure-copper conductors designed for stable signal transmission and lower resistance.
Can it connect a laptop to a router?. Yes, when the laptop has a built-in RJ45 port or is connected through a compatible USB-to-Ethernet adapter.
Can it be used with a smart TV or gaming console?. Yes. It works with compatible smart TVs, PlayStation, Xbox and other devices that have a standard RJ45 Ethernet port.
Does the cable increase my internet speed?. It can help establish a stable wired connection, but actual internet speed remains limited by the broadband plan, router, network equipment and connected device.
Can it be routed under a carpet?. Its flat shape permits discreet routing, but avoid high-traffic areas or locations where heavy furniture will repeatedly crush the cable.
Is it backward-compatible with Cat5e?. Yes. It can connect to Cat5 and Cat5e network equipment and will operate at the highest speed supported by the complete link.
Is this an Ethernet extension cable?. No. It has an RJ45 male connector on both ends. An Ethernet extension cable normally has an RJ45 male plug and an RJ45 female socket.
What is the warranty?. 2 Years
