UGREEN 40202 1×4 HDMI 1.4 Splitter, 4K30
Overview
Correct direction is the first troubleshooting check. Similar-looking HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C products can require completely different source and display sides.

How switching and multi-display behavior works
All outputs show the same source. Automatic EDID handling is listed, but independent output scaling is not. A lower-capability screen can limit the mode available to the group.
Control: Automatic signal distribution; no source-selection remote or multi-source control.
Never assume: a product advertised as “bidirectional,” “splitter” or “matrix” behaves like another topology. Follow the source/output map above.

Setup and usability guidance
Best first test: one source, one short cable path, one display and 1080p60. Expand only after this baseline works.
- Step 1: Connect the 12V adapter but leave power off during cabling.
- Step 2: Connect the source to HDMI Input and one display to Output 1.
- Step 3: Power the displays, splitter and source in that order.
- Step 4: Confirm 1080p60 first, then attach the remaining outputs one by one.
- Step 5: Move to 4K30 only if every display and cable supports it.
- Step 6: If a screen blanks, return to a common mode and replace the suspect cable before changing EDID assumptions.

What this product does
- Follows this path: One HDMI input → powered HDMI 1.4 distribution → four simultaneous mirrored HDMI outputs.
- Supports its ceiling: Up to 4K × 2K at 30Hz; 1080p at 24/50/60Hz and 1920 × 1200 are listed.
- Uses these ports: 1 × HDMI Type-A female → 4 × HDMI Type-A female.
- Handles control this way: Automatic signal distribution; no source-selection remote or multi-source control.
- Passes compatible audio: Compatible HDMI audio; DTS, DTS-HD, Dolby and Dolby TrueHD are listed. The splitter passes supported formats and does not decode them.
What this product does not do
- 4K30 ceiling; not 4K60
- Mirror only; no extended desktops
- One source only
- No per-output scaler or independent EDID is established
- Requires its 12V supply
What to do
Label.
Build gradually.
Verify cables.
Power safely.
Record settings.
What not to do
Do not reverse.
Do not confuse.
Do not assume scaling.
Do not force.
Do not overclaim.
Warnings and limitations
- Power: 12V DC adapter required.
- Display negotiation: mixed displays can force a lower common mode or create a blank screen.
- Protected content: HDCP must be supported end to end; the device cannot bypass protection.
- Heat and moisture: indoor use only; keep dry, ventilated and away from direct heat.
- Cables: No dependable cable-length table is published for SKU 40202. Start with short cables and expand the installation only after all four paths are stable.
