Eight functions dedicated to displays, data and power input

Port-by-port clarity

Two HDMI outputs. Each is listed up to 4K 60Hz in a compatible source, cable, display and multi-output configuration.

One DisplayPort output. Listed up to 4K 60Hz; host graphics and the number of active screens can reduce the selected mode.

Four USB data ports. Two USB-C and two USB-A USB 3.2 Gen 2 connections up to 10Gbps, sharing the host link.

USB-C PD-IN. Accepts up to 100W from a compatible charger; up to approximately 85W can reach the host.

Windows MST and macOS SST produce different desktops

Display modes

A compatible Windows host can use MST to extend independent content across attached monitors. The practical screen count, resolution and refresh rate are still limited by the laptop GPU and DisplayPort bandwidth carried through its USB-C port.

On macOS, the external screens attached to this dock display the same external desktop through SST. That duplication behaviour is not changed by replacing an HDMI cable or toggling a generic “extend” option.

  • Confirm DisplayPort Alt Mode on the host USB-C port.
  • Check the laptop GPU limit for display count and resolution.
  • Use HDMI/DP cables rated for the selected 4K60 mode.

Keep 10Gbps data ports separate from PD input

Data and charging roles

Two USB-C and two USB-A ports carry data up to the shared 10Gbps interface ceiling. The downstream USB-C ports do not send display video and are not charging outputs, despite having the same connector shape as the PD-IN port.

For laptop charging, connect a compatible charger and cable to PD-IN. The dock consumes part of the 100W input, leaving up to approximately 85W for the host; the laptop may negotiate less.

  • Use a 100W-rated charger and 5A cable when the highest host allocation is required.
  • Eject storage before disconnecting the dock.
  • Connect one fast storage device at a time for predictable throughput.

Use scenarios

Real-world applications

Choose this exact model when its verified connections and limits match the workflow below.

Windows trading or analytics desk. Extend up to three external displays from a compatible MST-capable laptop while attaching fast storage and input devices.

Editing workspace. Connect one or more 4K60-capable displays and high-speed USB media, subject to the host GPU and shared link.

Mac mirrored presentation wall. Feed identical external content to attached screens while using the dock for USB data and laptop power.

Hot-desk display station. Leave two HDMI screens, a DisplayPort monitor, USB devices and charger connected for one compatible host cable.

Setup and usability guidance

Practical connection order

A deliberate connection order makes capability checks and troubleshooting easier.

  1. Verify USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode and the host GPU display limit.
  2. Connect a suitable PD charger and cable to PD-IN if host charging is required.
  3. Attach the dock directly to the laptop USB-C host port.
  4. Connect one display and set a supported resolution/refresh rate.
  5. Add the other screens one at a time and configure Windows MST or recognise the macOS SST limit.
  6. Attach USB storage and peripherals after displays are stable.
  7. Eject removable drives before unplugging the host.
  8. If screens blank, reduce resolution/refresh and test each output directly.

Compatible devices and systems

Host and peripheral fit

Connector shape alone is not enough: the host port, operating system, cable, display and peripheral must support the required function.

Windows laptops. USB-C DisplayPort Alt Mode hosts with MST and enough GPU support for the required independent displays.

Mac computers. Compatible USB-C Macs can use display and data functions, with identical content on attached external screens through SST.

Displays. HDMI and DisplayPort monitors, televisions or projectors within the host, cable and dock limits.

USB devices. USB-C and USB-A storage and peripherals; downstream USB-C is data-only.

What this product does

Verified function scope

  • Adds two HDMI and one DisplayPort output to a video-capable USB-C host.
  • Supports independent dual/triple external desktops on compatible Windows MST systems.
  • Adds two USB-C and two USB-A data ports up to 10Gbps shared.
  • Accepts up to 100W through PD-IN for up to approximately 85W host charging.
  • Works on compatible Macs with SST external-display duplication.

What this product does not do

Boundaries that prevent a mismatch

  • It does not create independent extended external desktops on macOS.
  • It does not guarantee three simultaneous 4K60 screens from every host.
  • Its downstream USB-C ports do not output video or Power Delivery charging.
  • It does not include Ethernet, card-reader or audio functions.
  • It does not deliver the full 100W input to the laptop.

What to do

Recommended practice

  • Check host graphics specifications before planning three monitors.
  • Use display cables rated for 4K60.
  • Connect charging only to the labelled PD-IN port.
  • Use rated USB cables for 10Gbps storage.
  • Support the dock and cables to protect the host port.

What not to do

Avoid common mistakes

  • Do not expect macOS screens to extend independently.
  • Do not use downstream USB-C data ports for monitors or charging.
  • Do not assume all three outputs sustain their individual maximum simultaneously.
  • Do not advertise Ethernet, cards or audio for this model.
  • Do not disconnect storage during writes.

Warnings and limitations

Read before use

Check before connecting or ordering.

Warning / limitation 1. Adding displays can cause a temporary blank screen while the host renegotiates topology and bandwidth.

Warning / limitation 2. The lowest-capability host, cable or display determines the available mode.

Warning / limitation 3. The four data ports share upstream bandwidth and host/PD power.

Warning / limitation 4. A laptop needing more than approximately 85W may charge slowly under load.

Warning / limitation 5. Stop use if the fixed lead, enclosure or connector is damaged, wet, unusually hot or unstable.

  • The host USB-C port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode.
  • Windows independent multi-monitor layouts require MST and sufficient GPU support.
  • macOS external screens show identical content through SST.
  • 4K 60Hz is a per-output maximum in a compatible chain, not a guarantee for three simultaneous screens.
  • Downstream USB-C ports provide data only; no video or Power Delivery output.
  • PD-IN accepts up to 100W, while host charging is up to approximately 85W after dock overhead.
  • This model has no Ethernet, card reader or 3.5mm audio port.
  • A PD charger and display cables are not confirmed as included.

FAQs

Questions buyers ask.

Can UGREEN 35625 run three external displays?

Yes on a compatible Windows MST host with sufficient GPU capability. Screen count, resolution and refresh rate depend on the complete chain.

Will three Mac external displays extend independently?

No. macOS uses SST with this dock, so attached external screens show the same external desktop.

Does every display output support 4K 60Hz?

Each output is listed up to 4K 60Hz in a compatible configuration, but simultaneous modes depend on host bandwidth and GPU limits.

Do the USB-C data ports output video?

No. Both downstream USB-C connections are data-only.

Can the downstream USB-C ports charge a phone?

No Power Delivery output is specified. Use a dedicated charger.

How much power reaches the laptop?

PD-IN accepts up to 100W and host charging is listed up to approximately 85W after dock overhead.

Is a 100W charger included?

A PD charger and charging cable are not confirmed in the exact package information.

Does the dock include Ethernet?

No. The eight functions are three display outputs, four USB data ports and one PD input.

Why did a display fall back to a lower refresh rate?

The host may be sharing limited DisplayPort bandwidth among several screens. Check GPU limits, cables and the selected resolutions.

Are the USB ports each 10Gbps?

They are rated up to 10Gbps but share the upstream host connection; concurrent transfers divide available bandwidth.

What host feature is essential for display output?

The connected USB-C host port must support DisplayPort Alt Mode.
