What it does well.

Push or pull the focus ring to move between a narrow beam for distance and a wide wash for walking or repairs. No menus.
Emergency modes on their own button
The main button cycles low, medium and high. A separate signal button handles strobe and SOS, so emergency modes never get in the way.
