Check the smaller connector on your device carefully: Micro USB, Mini USB and USB-C have different shapes. This cable is for Micro USB equipment. Its compact reach helps keep nearby connections tidy, but a longer cable will be more comfortable if you need to use the device away from the socket.

Key features
Charge and transfer data. Use the same lead for charging or USB 2.0 data transfer at up to 480Mbps when both devices support data communication.

Setup and everyday use
- Check the device socket carefully: this cable uses Micro USB, which is different from USB-C, Mini USB and Lightning.
- Connect the USB-A plug to your charger, power bank or computer. Align the Micro USB plug with the device socket and insert it gently.
- For file transfer, unlock the device and select its file-transfer mode if prompted. Some accessories use their Micro USB port only for charging.
- Test the intended charging or file-transfer task before packing the cable for travel. Check that the device can rest beside the source with enough slack at both plugs, and keep the USB-A and Micro USB connectors free from strain.
