UGREEN USB-A to USB-C Charging Cable, Braided, 3m, Pack of 1

Give your charging setup more reach with the UGREEN 50878 USB-A to USB-C cable. Its 3m length lets you place a compatible phone or accessory comfortably on a desk, bedside table or sofa while the USB-A power source stays near the socket. The same cable also connects a USB-C device to a computer for USB 2.0 file transfer, so it can serve both your charging and everyday data needs. Black nylon braiding and aluminium connector housings give it a practical finish for repeated handling. Choose it for equipment that uses a rectangular USB-A source port and a USB-C device connection, with up to 3A charging and supported fast-charge modes up to 18W. This listing contains one 3m cable.

What it does well.

UGREEN USB-A to USB-C Cable 3M Braided Samsung Galaxy S9 S8 S10 Note 9 Nintendo Switch GoPro Hero LG G8 (50878)

Key features

3m reach. The 3m cable gives you flexibility when a wall outlet is further from the place you use your phone. It is also useful for reaching a computer below a desk. Leave some slack near each connector so moving the device does not pull directly on its port.

Charging up to 3A. Compatible USB-A chargers and devices can use charging profiles up to 5V/3A, 9V/2A or 12V/1.5A. Quick Charge 2.0/3.0 support makes it suitable for matching equipment. The device and charger choose an available mode together; the cable does not make every USB-A source an 18W charger.

480Mbps data transfer. USB 2.0 data support lets you copy photos, documents and other files between compatible equipment at a maximum signalling rate of 480Mbps. This is useful for routine phone-to-computer transfers. The time a transfer takes also depends on the device storage, file sizes and software.

Braided construction. The nylon outer braid adds a woven surface, while aluminium housings provide a firm place to grip when connecting or unplugging. Reinforced ends support the transition between cable and connector. Coil it loosely for storage and pull on the housing when disconnecting, rather than the cable itself.

56kΩ resistor. A built-in 56kΩ resistor is part of the USB-A to USB-C connection design. It supports the correct arrangement for this connector pairing. Charging compatibility still depends on the power source and connected device, so select the cable by its ports and supported charging standard as well as length.

Where it fits

Bedside and sofa charging. Keep a phone within reach for messages, reading or an alarm clock while charging from a USB-A wall adapter. Measure the route from socket to table, including the height of furniture, to check that the 3m length suits your preferred position without stretching the lead.

Desk and computer connection. Connect a compatible USB-C phone or tablet to a USB-A computer port when you need to copy files as well as charge. Unlock the device and select the appropriate USB file-transfer option. The computer may supply less charging power than a dedicated compatible fast charger.

USB-C accessories. Use the cable with USB-C controllers, cameras and other accessories that accept power from USB-A. It is particularly convenient when a longer reach is useful during use. Check the accessory's charging requirements first; the USB-C connector alone does not establish its required power or data functions.

Will it work with your setup?

  1. USB-C phones, tablets and accessories that accept charging from USB-A.
  2. Examples include compatible Samsung Galaxy and LG phones, Nintendo Switch and GoPro HERO 5/6/7.
  3. Use a compatible fast charger and device to access supported fast-charging modes.

Setup and everyday use

  1. Connect the USB-A end to a compatible USB-A charger, power bank or computer.
  2. Connect the reversible USB-C end to the device.
  3. For file transfers, unlock the device and select its file-transfer mode when prompted. Charging speed depends on the power source and device.
