UGREEN US289 60137 USB-A to Micro-USB Cable, 1.5m
Overview
UGREEN 60137 is the 1.5 m US289 passive cable for connecting a USB-A host or charger to a standard Micro-USB Type-B device. US289 media documents USB 2.0 data up to 480Mbps and charging up to 5V/2.4A. This is the plain black PVC version—not the braided US290—and its small Micro-B device plug is not Mini-B or USB-C.

What it does well.

Key features
Passive point-to-point design. Passive male-to-male USB 2.0 cable; no repeater and no auxiliary-power input
USB 2.0 data. Up to 480Mbps USB 2.0
Device-controlled charging.
Construction. Plain black PVC outer jacket with molded strain relief and copper conductors. title/media conflict on nickel versus gold contact wording, so no precise plating finish is asserted.
Use scenarios
Nearby charging. Charge a compatible Micro-USB phone, controller, speaker or accessory from a nearby USB-A source
Data and media. Sync files with a standard Micro-B device that exposes a USB 2.0 data function
Accessory link. Provide the 1.5 m reach from a desktop, console or charger without a connector adapter
Replacement planning. Replace a worn Micro-USB data/charging lead while retaining a flexible plain PVC construction
A matching plug is necessary but not sufficient; the peripheral must implement the requested function.
Setup and usability guidance
- Inspect: compare the port with the image and device manual.
- Connect roles: USB-A male host/charger end → Micro-USB Type-B male device end.
- Insert straight: never rock, twist or force a keyed legacy plug.
- Select mode: a camera or phone may need PC, MTP or file-transfer mode.
- Test separately: charging alone does not prove that data is available.
- Route safely: keep dry, use broad bends and support cable weight.

Compatible devices and systems
Use it with a USB-A computer, console, powered hub or charger and a standard Micro-USB Type-B peripheral. Compatible categories can include older phones, controllers, speakers, power banks, cameras or accessories, but the actual connector and device manual decide. The cable itself needs no driver; the device may require a USB mode, driver, application, permission or unlocked screen.
Host/source. USB-A male host/charger end
Peripheral. Micro-USB Type-B male device end
Software. The cable has none. A camera, controller, GPS or other device can still need its own driver, firmware or app.
Function. Check whether the device port supports data, charging or both; some legacy ports are service- or power-only.

What this product does
- Provides a 1.5 m USB-A male to standard Micro-USB Type-B male connection.
- Carries host-controlled USB 2.0 data in both directions up to the 480Mbps interface ceiling.
- Carries ordinary charging up to the documented 5V/2.4A ceiling where source and device permit.
- Works without a cable-specific driver and is backward-compatible with slower USB operation where the devices support it.
What this product does not do
- It is not the braided US290 cable, despite copied braided-family language found in parts of the India page.
- It is not Mini-B or Lightning, and it is not USB-C or the wide two-part USB 3.0 Micro-B plug.
- It does not guarantee Qualcomm Quick Charge, 18W charging, USB PD or PPS. A charger photograph is not a protocol certification.
- It does not carry native display video, convert audio/network protocols, act as OTG host electronics or regenerate a long USB signal.
- It cannot force a charge-only device to expose data or exceed the receiving device’s own charging limit.

What to do
Confirm before ordering. Use this SKU, length, connector images and device manual—not only a marketplace device list.
Choose the shortest suitable run. Measure around obstacles and leave slack without excess cable.
Protect the socket. Grip the molded housing, support cable weight and replace a lead that no longer fits firmly.
Use approved power.

What not to do
Do not force a near-match. Mini-B, Micro-B, USB-C and HDMI plugs differ. Stop if alignment or insertion resistance is wrong.
Do not join two hosts. This is not a host-to-host bridge; two powered host ports can risk damage.
Do not stack cables. No supported daisy-chain count is published; extra junctions reduce signal and power margin.
Do not trust legacy names. References to Android phones, PS4 controllers or cameras describe possible categories, not every hardware revision. Verify a standard Micro-B port and the device maker’s data/charging guidance. media supporting PVC, 5V/2.4A and 480Mbps was preferred over copied US290 braided/QC text.
Warnings and limitations
Speed: 480Mbps is the USB 2.0 signalling ceiling, not guaranteed file-copy throughput.
Roles: use the documented host/charger-to-peripheral arrangement; this is not OTG or a peer bridge.
No native display video: no HDMI, DisplayPort or USB-C Alt Mode.
Condition: replace bent, loose, corroded, wet, frayed or unusually hot connections.

Questions buyers ask.
Is this cable braided?
No. The US289 product and hero media show a plain black PVC jacket. Braided and 18W/QC language in parts of the India body belongs to a different US290 family and is not used for this SKU.
What charging rate is supported?
Does it support Quick Charge or 18W?
A defined QC/18W guarantee is not established for this US289 guide. Some attached family scenes show a QC-branded charger, but model specifications support 5V/2.4A, so plan around that documented level.
What is the data-speed ceiling?
Up to 480Mbps under USB 2.0. Real throughput is lower and depends on the host, device, storage and protocol overhead. A USB 3.x Type-A port can operate backward-compatibly but cannot raise this cable above USB 2.0.
Is Micro-USB the same as Mini-B or USB-C?
No. This Micro-B plug is the thin, asymmetrical five-contact connector. Mini-B is thicker and trapezoidal, while USB-C is rounded and reversible. Never force a plug that only looks similar.
Why does charging work but data does not?
The device may expose a charge-only port, require an unlocked screen or USB file-transfer mode, or need a driver. Test another known-good data cable and host port before assuming the cable is faulty.
Can I use it in a USB 3.0 computer port?
Usually for ordinary backward-compatible USB 2.0 operation. The link remains capped at 480Mbps, and the port must provide a working USB data/power function.
Are phone, controller and camera examples guaranteed?
No. Hardware revisions can change connector or behaviour while keeping a similar model name. Confirm standard Micro-B and the device manufacturer’s current instructions for charging, sync or controller use.
How should I choose between 1.5m and 2m?
Choose the shortest length that reaches with a gentle service loop. The 1.5m SKU 60137 is easier to manage; the 2m SKU 60138 provides more reach but can have slightly more voltage drop under load.
Can I extend or chain this cable?
No supported chaining arrangement is published. Additional leads and adapters add voltage drop, signal loss and loose connection points. Use one suitable direct cable.
What should I check if charging is slow or the device disconnects?
Try a known-good approved charger or host port, remove hubs and adapters, inspect and clean the Micro-B socket, reseat both ends, test the device with its original cable and avoid moving the small connector under load.
