On a compatible Wi-Fi 6 router, MU-MIMO and OFDMA can help the network manage communication with multiple connected devices more efficiently.
These technologies can be useful in busy homes and offices where computers, phones, televisions and other devices share the same wireless network.
The router and wireless network must support the relevant Wi-Fi 6 functions. The adapter does not upgrade the router itself.

No separate driver disc required
BUILT-IN WINDOWS INSTALLER
On Windows 10 and Windows 11, the adapter includes a built-in installer that normally appears in File Explorer as a virtual UGREEN wireless drive.
Administrator permission may be required. Corporate security settings can prevent an installer from running, so managed computers may require assistance from the organisation’s IT administrator.
- Insert the adapter into a USB-A port.
- Open “This PC” in File Explorer.
- Open the “UGREEN Wireless” drive.
- Run the Setup.exe installer.
- Complete installation, select the Wi-Fi network and enter its password.
Designed for sustained network operation
Realtek wireless chipset. The internal Realtek platform manages Wi-Fi communication and the adapter’s supported wireless features.
Heat-dissipation housing. The ventilated housing design helps manage heat generated during extended wireless activity. Some warmth during operation can be normal.

STATION AND SOFTAP MODES
In Station mode, the adapter connects the computer to a wireless network. On a compatible Windows system, SoftAP or Mobile Hotspot functionality can share the computer’s existing internet connection with other devices.
SoftAP does not create an internet connection by itself and is not a replacement for a standalone router. Availability depends on Windows settings, driver support and the source connection.

Yes. CM499 supports the IEEE 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6 standard on compatible 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks.
Does AX1800 mean I will receive 1800 Mbps internet speed?
No. AX1800 is the rounded combined wireless-class rating of the two bands. The adapter is rated up to 1201 Mbps on 5 GHz or 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. Actual internet speed will normally be lower.
Does it work with Windows 10 and Windows 11?
Yes. The adapter includes a built-in Windows driver installer. Open the UGREEN Wireless virtual drive and run Setup.exe after connecting the adapter.
Is it completely plug-and-play?
The driver installer is built into the adapter, but Windows users normally still need to open the virtual drive and run Setup.exe before connecting to Wi-Fi.
Does it work with macOS?
macOS is not listed as a supported system for SKU 65225. Do not order this model for a Mac unless UGREEN India confirms support for the exact macOS version.
Does it support Linux?

Do I need a Wi-Fi 6 router?
A Wi-Fi 6 router is required to use Wi-Fi 6-specific capabilities. The adapter can connect to compatible earlier Wi-Fi standards, but performance will follow the router and network standard in use.
Can I use it in a USB 2.0 port?
The USB 3.0 interface is listed as backward compatible, but a USB 2.0 port can restrict performance. Use USB 3.0 for the best available throughput.
Does it have an external antenna?
No. It uses two internal antennas integrated into the adapter body.
Can it create a Wi-Fi hotspot?
It supports SoftAP mode on compatible Windows systems, allowing the computer to share an existing internet connection. It does not provide internet service by itself.
